Give Them A Gourmet Fruit Basket
For many years, the most popular gift to give to a loved one, friend or associate was a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The flowers would be admired on a desk top or counter for a few days and then the petals begin to wither. Eventually the flowers are thrown away. A gift that will give more pleasure and will serve a greater purpose is a fruit basket.
Unlike the flower bouquet, a gift basket of fruit can be used and shared by many people. Fruit baskets can be designed specifically for the person that you are purchasing it for. If you know for certain that they really like to eat grapefruit or kiwi, why not order the fruit basket with these two fruits in it.
Not only will putting their favorite fruits in the basket make it person, you could also add splashes of their favorite colors. This can be accomplished easily with ribbons or strips of fabric in their favorite colors. Or even adding a bow that says congratulations or happy birthday can make it that much more personal.
The recipients of a fruit gift basket are usually very thrilled and excited about their gift. They are eager to show it off to friends and coworkers. Unlike a flower bouquet, a fruit basket can be shared by the whole office or household. Each person in the office could take and eat an orange or apple from the fruit basket.
Have you ever spent hours wandering around stores looking for the perfect gift for someone that you just really don’t know that well? Do you get them a nice bottle of wine? Do you get them an article of clothing? Well the best answer would be to get them a fruit basket.
By purchasing wine or clothing, you are assuming that you know their preferences in those things. That can be a bad assumption if you let a group of people down that were counting on you to find and purchase the perfect gift. If the recipient does not like the choice that you made, it can be slightly embarrassing.
A fruit basket is the perfect gift for anyone that you are wanting to surprise. They are usually less expensive when compared to the soaring prices of a flower pot and they can just as easily be made into a basket filled with things that the person loves. Try it today. The person that you are gifting to will surely be surprised and happy.

Getting in Shape: Some Ideas for Giving in Shape
We all know someone who when you pass by the vitamin store in the mall, we’re not surprised to see them browsing the shelves. They are the health freak; that friend of ours who is always trying out the latest diet or newest exercise fad. Or maybe they represent those among us who are trying to lose those extra pounds…for the third year in a row. No matter what, we all know someone who is “carb conscious.” So, when their birthday comes around, it can be challenging to get them a gift that meets their healthy living. In fact, this give you a good starting point in deciding upon a gift. Get your friend something that they’ll actually use and appreciate, or support your newly dieting friend by helping them along their way to a healthier and leaner lifestyle.
One great gift idea might be to get them an introductory membership to a health or athletic club. They’ll be among others with the same goals, and plenty of equipment to help them take on their challenges. Some of the equipment can be intimidating or tricky looking, and the staff is always willing to demonstrate how to work them. They might find that getting a personal trainer can keep them going beyond the point where, in past efforts, they may have simply quit. Getting a friend a membership is a great way to motivate someone to get out of the house and get started on shedding the pounds. Even if your friend already has a membership to such a club, you can still give them a free month, or even a gift certificate to be used at the club for additional services or products.
If a club membership is too pricey, you might think about getting them something else that will aid them in their quest for fitness. Visit your local sporting goods shop to find inspiration for other appropriate gifts. Health stores can give you plenty of gift ideas, too. You might find a video guide on a popular exercise routine or an inspirational book.
Just because they want to lose weight doesn’t mean they can’t eat. Many sports shops will have cook books for the health conscious. These books are a great idea for those who are fine when it comes to working out, but have trouble controlling their diet. In the same locations, you can also find useful gadgets such as pedometers that can be worn throughout the day to encourage walking instead of riding or the stairs instead of the elevator.
If you want your gift to express more of a personal touch, try sending a gourmet fruit basket. A fruit gift basket is a great gift idea for anyone who is health conscious and watching their weight. Think of the food pyramid that you may have first glimpsed when you were in grade school. Fruit is just plain healthy; it is totally cholesterol-free and provides many of the essential vitamins that we all require. There’s no question that a fruit basket would be loved by your health conscious friend. There are all sorts of fruit baskets from which to choose, one of which will fit your budget as well as delighting your health-conscious friend. One exception to keep in mind, however, often people who are just beginning a low carb diet are not permitted fruit.
So whether they’re just getting into fitness or have been exercising for years, showing your support for their efforts to drop some weight by getting them a healthy gift is a great way to wish them a happy birthday.

Help New Neighbors Feel at Home with a Basket of Fresh Fruit
New neighbors have finally arrived next door. We’re very excited to meet them. They look to be about our age and our kids are looking forward to playing with theirs. Close friendships develop quickly on our street so we’re certain our new neighbors will become our friends. What better way to greet these new neighbors than with a festive fruit bouquet?
A simple fruit basket idea would be to have a few red apples, a couple of green pears, and a bright orange or two presented on a wooden cutting board. Add some red grapes and this lovely combination of color speaks for itself. Wrap pastel-colored cellophane around it all and tie a bow to the handle of the board to complete the package.
A more sizeable fruit giftbasket could consist of a sturdy box, which can be used for other items later, filled with wrapped choices of ripe fruit. Just think of juicy oranges, sweet nectarines, fragrant strawberries, and tangy grapefruit. The delicious selection of these fruits stimulate any discerning appetite.
Using an actual wicker basket is another means of packaging the fruit. Select a large white or natural-colored basket. Healthy fruits of fragrant pineapple and distinctive coconut are surrounded by exotic kiwi. Add citrus selections of oranges, lemons and limes with aromatic bananas carefully positioned among them. This makes a tropical fruit basket choice that is appetizing, healthy, and very attractive. Top it with a lime-green ribbon tied in a large bow.

Fruit baskets can be personalized, depending on your preference. We noticed a beautiful, walnut wine rack being moved into their home, so a bottle of wine could easily be added to the selections of fruit. In order to tie in the fruit theme, a citrus peeler or a paring knife could also be included. Hard tack or chocolate candies, shortbread cookies, or even nut selections of almonds and pecans would add an extra touch to the fruit basket gift.
Fruit gift baskets can be offered in a variety of containers filled with every kind of delicious fruit you can think of. No matter which container you select for the fruit and no matter which fruits you choose to fill the container, it is a lovely, flavorful, and healthy option. What a wonderful “Welcome to the Neighborhood” gift fruit baskets are!
